How to care for triathlon gear
- Rinse promptly after pool, ocean or heavy-sweat sessions.
- Hand wash or use a gentle machine cycle in cold water, no warmer than 30°C.
- Use a small amount of mild detergent. Avoid bleach, stain removers and fabric softeners.
- Wash inside out and keep the garment away from Velcro, rough zips and other abrasive items. A wash bag can help reduce snagging.
- Air dry in the shade. Do not tumble dry, iron or dry clean.
- Do not leave a wet trisuit hanging by the shoulders for long periods. Drape it over a rack or towel bar to reduce unnecessary stretch.
- Keep wet kit out of backpacks and car boots after training. Rinse and dry it as soon as practical.
- Salt, chlorine, sunscreen, deodorant and anti-chafe products can build up on technical fabrics, so prompt rinsing matters.
How to care for cycling gear
- Wash your kit soon after riding rather than leaving sweaty garments bundled up.
- Use a gentle cold wash, no warmer than 30°C, with mild detergent.
- Turn jerseys and bib shorts inside out, close zips and keep them separate from Velcro, denim and abrasive garments.
- Skip fabric softener, bleach and aggressive stain treatments.
- Air dry in the shade. Do not tumble dry, iron or dry clean technical cycling kit.
- A wash bag can reduce snagging and friction, particularly around bib straps and lightweight jersey fabrics.
- For bib shorts, gentle washing and thorough air drying help protect the pad and the stretch fabrics around it.

- Wash or rinse after sweaty sessions so salts, sunscreen and body oils do not sit in the fabric.
- Use a cold gentle cycle, no warmer than 30°C, turn garments inside out and wash with like colours.
- Use mild detergent only. Avoid fabric softener, bleach and aggressive stain removers.
- Air dry in the shade. Do not tumble dry, iron or dry clean.
- Use a wash bag for lighter garments and avoid washing them with rough hardware or Velcro.
- For very saturated or dark colours, separate washing during the first few washes is a sensible precaution against colour transfer.
